UNC Piano Camps July 2013

Five students attended the UNCG July Piano camp, Ashley, Chelsea, Elijah, Myles and RuRu, and by all accounts had a wonderful time.  Chelsea also attended the UNC-Chapel Hill piano camp and thanks to Roger Daniel, her dad, you can see and hear her play Chopin’s Fantasie Impromptu. Congratulations Chelsea – so sad she is now off to Winston Salem to UNC School of the Arts but watch out for her name in lights one day – Chelsea Daniel!

Reagan Flynn singing Taylor Swift

During the summer, Reagan Flynn, Flourishing Muse guitar student, performed Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” at Durham School of the Arts 2012 Singout. Great work Reagan, especially the expressive eyes and the crystal clear vocals!

Animal Musical Safari CFS 2012

The last CFS summer camp was titled “Animal Musical Safari”. Fourteen 5-7 year olds enjoyed learning about African animals, singing African songs, making animal masks (very popular section!), and playing African instruments. Lots of FUN!

Mini-Musical Camp at the Carolina Friends School 2012

This year students worked on “Character Matters 2”, a play about how even fairy tale characters need some help at times. This was the opening song “Math and Science” with the 15 campers doing a great job seeing they only had one week to learn the whole play and all seven songs!

Spring Soiree 2012 – Chelsea Daniel at the Piano

Chelsea Daniel playing the Chopin Nocturne No. 20 in C# Minor at the Flourishing Muse Spring Soiree at Croasdaile Auditorium, Durham NC. Chelsea loves Chopin and plays this piece with great emotion. Beautiful performance! (Video thanks to Roger Daniel)
